What is a Virtual Assistant?

The term Virtual Assistant (also known as a VA or lifesaver!) has become a lot more common over the past couple of years, yet so many business owners are still unsure about what a VA can actually do for them.

So what exactly is a Virtual Assistant? 

A VA is a self-employed service provider for entrepreneurs and small business owners.

VAs provide support to clients across any industry; beauty, health and wellness, real estate, construction.. There is no industry too niche. 

Virtual assistants work on their own terms and often from a remote location. 

There are two types of Virtual Assistants; General and Specialized.

General:

Provide a range of services to their clients, including day to day tasks such as; admin, design and tech support. They have a wide range of skills and are often keen to learn new tools to add value to your business. 

Specialized:

Offer limited services based on their experience and/or qualifications, for example; bookkeeping or social media.. Instead of knowing a little about a lot of different topics, a specialist continues learning and stays up to date on their preferred skills to become an expert in that field.
